Haiti and Dominican Republic join forces to protect border lakes

Rising water levels in Lake Azuei in Haiti and Lake Enriquillo in the Dominican Republic have contributed to environmental deterioration. Both countries have therefore committed to long-term measures to protect the area’s environment and economy.

UNDP helps Bhutan to reduce risks of massive glacier lake flooding

Rising temperatures are melting Bhutan's immense collection of glaciers in its mountainous north. In response, UNDP is working with the Government on a project to reduce the damage caused by flooding in the country's highly populated south, where glacier lakes grow at alarming rates.
